What will my Mini, family, or Lifestyle session be like?
Well, for starters, we are going to have fun. I mean, I can't guarantee that the whole session will be filled with laughter (though that actually happens sometimes) but we are going to try to have a lot of fun.
When I shoot I try to capture families very naturally and organically. I won't do very much posing, but I will make suggestions and try to guide you and your children throughout the session. I'll encourage kids to act naturally so that we capture the honest, real connection that represents your family unique story right now.
Here's an example:
Where are some of your Family Session locations?
I love to photograph outdoors just before sunset. The light creates timeless, emotive images. My favorite locations are at the lake, in the forest, at the edge of an old Civil War battlefield, and on city street.
I also LOVE to shoot in clients' homes. This is where you spend most of your time and where your true story lies. These are usually done midday to capture the wonderful natural light coming through your windows.
WHAT WILL MY Newborn SESSION BE LIKE?
When I arrive I'll take a few minutes to make a plan for how the session will flow according to the lighting in each room and the flow of your house. Typically, we'll spend some time in your living areas, in the nursery, and in your bedroom. Sometimes we'll include time in the kitchen or other areas of the house that tell the story of your baby's first few weeks at home.
Newborn sessions are a bit longer to accommodate baby's needs. Baby may need to be fed changed, and that's fine. It is good, actually, because that kind of caring for your baby is the real story of bringing baby home!
